The Cerebrum of Sherwood Forest was a large scale, polygon-style brain sculpture that would come to life through responsive and generative projection mapping. The brain reacted to the varying sound in its surroundings, and had an expansive visual set that offered something new to see each time it was was encountered.
The projection mapping was designed as an algorithm-based, adaptive system that had the ability to blend both specially-made visuals created by commissioned artists, as well as generative imagery built within the programming. This created an ever-changing and completely unpredictable visual show that progressed and evolved through the course of the festival, while offering unique moments that were triggerable by the RFID in attendees' festival wristband.
